Release the Beasts Star Wars Unlimited Premier Constructed Event
This Star Wars Unlimited event will take place on the 1st of March 2025 at the Fantasy Fayre at The Rusty Hook in Roodepoort, Johannesburg. Entries are limited to 12 players to ensure we are able to run and finish the event in the timeframe allowed by the event organisers. This event has been sponsored by our good friends over at Unplug Yourself and the good people at Aniware and Jix Hobbies have added additional prize support.
Important Times
Registration will begin from when the gates to the Fayre open at 10am and we will be looking to have the first round of 4 Swiss rounds kick off at 11am. There should be a break for lunch from 13:00 to 13:45 with the third round of Swiss starting at 14:00. The event should end at 16:00.
Costs and Prize Support
Tickets
Tickets for the event are exclusively available on the Easy Gaming Group website for ease of admin and to avoid last minute rush issues with registration on the day. Tickets cost R180 per player. Players will need to purchase a ticket for the Fantasy Fayre to gain entry to the event on the day. These tickets can be found on Quicket.
Confirmed Prize Supprot
Each player who enters will receive a SWU Spark of Rebellion booster pack with additional packs going to the higher placed players on the day as well as adidtional prizes to be allocated once confirmed from sponsors including two soft crate deck boxes and a set of official SWU tokens.
Deck Building Rules for the Event
As this year’s theme for the Fantasy Fayre is “The Bestiary” we thought it only fitting that the decks for the event should fit into that theme. Therefore the following deck building rules will apply:
Minimum 50 card premier constructed Deck
1 Leader
1 Base
Included in the 50 cards in your deck must be a minimum of 6 non-human units (no, spaceships/vehicles don’t count, but droids, wookiees and calamari do), up to three of each unit as per ususal but of those 6 non-humans a minimum of 3 of those units must have the “creature” trait.
