There will be 8 events at 8 different stores around Gauteng. Of those 8 events, your top 5 finishes will count towards your final league standing. The Top 16 players on the league table at the end of the 8 qualifiers will be invited to play in a final event for some great prizes, a cool trophy and the right to be called Praetor of Modern for 2024.

All events in this league will be played COMP REL with a judge present at all times and the judge’s decision is final. There will be random deck checks as well as random authenticty checks of cards throughout the event, and there will be consqeuences for any underhanded activities.

The Qualifiers will be played as Swiss rounds with no cut to top 8. There  will be points standardisation for the  qualifier events (in other words, a 4 rounder will count as much as a 5 rounder. This will make the events have the same impact without affecting where or when you’re playing).

The Final will be played as follows: o avoid intentional drawing we will use a pod structure playoff. 4 people per pod. Each person will play all three other people in the pod. The undefeated player will advance to a Top 4 and from that point we are into the semifinals and they play it out. The two remaining undefeated players will play it out in the finals. If there is a clear second placed player in each pod those players will receive a Top 8 play mat, should there not be a clear second then those players who are tied will have to play off for that pod’s play mat.
